I finally got around to watching The Darjeeling Limited the other night. I actually missed it in theatres because it was released right around the time Danielle and I were opening our bakery. Unfortunately, we watched it on Comcast OnDemand, which, oddly enough, started out at full widescreen aspect ratio before switching to a horrifyingly distracting pan-and-scan about 5 minutes into the film. That sort of ruined things for a bit until I could get adjusted to it.
Even still, I’d say I liked it a lot. I’d put it in my lower third of Wes Anderson movies, along with Bottle Rocket (which I think the movie had a lot of similarities to, actually), but that still ranks it pretty high on my overall scale. Easily worth the 5 bucks, and highly recommended if you enjoy your Wes Anderson movies.
March 31st, 2008 / 0 CommentsI’m a sucker for post-apocalyptic stories, and I Am Legend was no exception. As a zombie genre, it was okay, not great or terrible, just okay. It’s better if you view it as a thriller or sci-fi movie.

This is a test post. This blog should be up and running on a new installation of Chyrp. Here’s hoping it works…
